FIELD RULES

SECTION l                     REQUIRED CONDITIONS FOR FIELD USE

 

 

1. Membership cards in both AMA and South Jersey Heli Flyers Club for  current dues year. Member must be in good standing as described in the club constitution/by laws. Visitors/Guest flyers must have current AMA membership.

2. Membership cards for AMA and South Jersey Heli Flyers must be in your procession at all times while flying a the field

3. Visitors to the South Jersey Heli Field may fly the club field as a guest and must be sponsored by a currently flying, soloed club member. The sponsoring pilot does not fly while the guest is in the air. It is the responsibility of the members present to determine if the visitor is capable to fly at the field.

4. As a member of the club you have the right to challenge any one who you think is not a member of this club and is flying at the field (weather they have AMA membership or if they are a member of this club).

5. All club members must wear there club card on there person when flying.

 

SECTIONS ll                     SAFETY

 

1. All flying activities will be in accordance with current AMA safety codes and South Jersey Heli Flyers Club.

2. No alcoholic beverages or any other disabling drugs will be used during participation in any model operation or are they allowed on the property at any time.

3. The frequency control board will be used at all times when operating radio control equipment.

4. All take-off and landings will be announced so that all other pilots flying or in the pit area can hear.

5. All new or repaired models will be successfully ground tested before first  flight.

6. All. new or  repaired aircraft must be announced, prior to take-off so that all can hear.

7. Intentional over-flying of pit, spectator areas, parking lots, or structures is not permitted.

8. All flying will cease once field maintenance begins such as grass cutting.

9. Extended running of engines is not permitted in the pits such as breaking in a new engine.

10.No person shall operate a remote control model unless they are qualified pilot or assisted by a qualified pilot.

11.Training of a new pilot will be announced to all before such training begins. A qualified pilot must demonstrate three controlled take-offs and landings.

12.All non-AMA members must remain out of the flight line and pit areas at all times.

13.Parking is only allowed in designed areas determined by the Board of Directors.

14. There will only be no more that 5 aircrafts in the air at one time.

 

15. All New members will have to go through the safety program  and

will receive a temporary club upon completeing the safety program they will receive there permanent club card.(SEE SAFETY OFFICER)

 

16.  A new pilot new to the club and to the hobby cannot start up or fly unless he/she show that they can control the helicopter in a hover situation and that a qualified flight instructor works with them until said is  done.

17. A new member to the club and to the hobby have to reach out to our flight instructor to set up  flight training. If said instructor is not available at that time and they come to the field the new member has to reach out to a qualififed member of the club to instruct them.

18. Under no condition is s new member to the club and to the hobby is to fly by him/her self until they show to the flight instructor that they have control of the helicopter

 

 

 

SECTION  lll                            CHANNEL CONTROL

 

1. Before turning on you transmitter pilot must check the frequency board to see if any one is on that channel.

2. Pilot must put there club card next to his channel number on the frequency board to alert other pilots that channel is being used.

3. Pilot will use there club card on the frequency board.

4.  After landing the pilot must retrieve there club card from the frequency board to free up there channel for other pilots using that channel.

5.  At any time the pilot has to go on to the field to retrieve there aircraft the pilot has to announce that they are going onto the field.

6.   If the frequency that you are on is being used by another pilot the both of the pilots will have to alternate there flights.

7.   In the event of an emergency (dead stick) the pilot shall announce verbally the emergency. All other pilots shall yield the right of way to the pilot in in distress.

 

 

 

 

 

SECTION lV                            GENERAL

 

 

 

1. Any violation of the AMA and/or South Jersey Heli Flyers Club rules will be brought to the attention of the violating person. The violation can also be brought to the attention of any Director. Any Director member can discretely warm or immediately suspend flying privileges for that day due to safety violation.

2. Any damage of club property due to abuse by a member will be the responsibility of that member to replace, pay for, or repair to like condition.

3. Any damage of club property by a non member will be the responsibility of that non-member to replace, pay for, or repair to like condition.

4. Animals brought to the field will be under the control of the owner and  will be kept out of the pit area. An animal will not be permitted Back to the field if found to be leaving waste in the spectator or parking areas.

5.  All Members and spectators are responsible for the removal of there trash.

 

 

SECTION V                              GUEST FLYING AT FIELD

 

 

1.  There is a 2 fly rule where a guest can come to the field and fly 2 days and after that they will have to either join the club or not fly at the field. The guest must be sponsored by a club member.

 

 

 

SECTION VI                                  SHARING FIELD ANOTHER CLUB

 

 

1. We share the field with the Hopewell Valley Modelers and when an airplane is in the air you have to wait until that aircraft comes down before you go up.
